Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 2018 debuted in Frankfurt
The four generation of the Audi A8 was introduced to the public at the Audi Summit in Barcelona, and it's said to be the most perfect four-ringer so far.
The new A8, codenamed D5 in the Audi company, portrayed a new design direction which will be used in the making of the next few Audis.
You can already see some elements and details on the A8 that are different to previous models. The new Audi is 5,172 millimeters long and has a wheelbase of 2,998 millimeters. The "L" version of the car will also be available, with 5,302 millimeters in length and a wheelbase of 3,128 millimeters. There's no doubt that both versions of the A8 will provide its drivers with maximum comfort.
The vehicle is made of 58 percent aluminum and contains elements that are made of steel, magnesium and carbon fiber.
What's more impressive than the superb exterior is what lies beneath the hood of the most autonomous automobile ever produced for serial production purposes. The A8 is full of technological innovations. The German bred vehicle is the first one with third-level autonomy and electronics that take care of every aspect of driving, paired with new and advanced "infotainment" systems that will draw a new path for all Audis that will hit the road in the upcoming period.
Audi announced that the A8 is an embodiment of their heritage, and also their future.
The A8 comes with the Traffic Jam Pilot option, which controls the vehicle up to a speed of 60 km/h, allowing passengers to take their hands off the steering wheel and enjoy the other perks the car provides - such as watching movies, according to Audi.
When the car reaches a certain speed and the TJP artificial intelligence senses that a human hand is needed, the driver gets notified immediately. Since the vehicle is equipped with new electromechanical suspension systems and an all-wheel drive, the driver should be provided with a more comfortable and sportier driving experience.
The Audi A8 will be offered in a palette of several benzene and diesel engines. For the initial launch of the model, two V6 3.0 liter TDI and 3.0 liter TFSI diesel engine cars will be available, and later on a 4.0 liter V8 diesel of benzene variant will be up for grabs. The series will be complete with the production of the 6.0 liter W12 engine which will produce 590 HP.
Along with the mentioned engine variants, the A8 will run a special 48V electrical system that will allow the "real" engine to turn off, making fuel consumption in ideal conditions drop below a liter; 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers traveled to be exact.
